About the Course
This 9-week professional course is designed for individuals interested in writing for animation, with a particular focus on children’s programming. While the emphasis is on content for younger audiences, the skills acquired are highly transferable to other forms of animated storytelling.
Participants will be immersed in a simulated writers’ room, mirroring the environment in which animated serials are developed. Through idea sharing, real-time feedback, and pitching sessions, learners will gain practical insight into how animated series are conceived and written.
This year’s edition will use the multi-award-winning Disney show Phineas and Ferb as a case study. Renowned for its blend of comedy, action, and clever storytelling, Phineas and Ferb offers an ideal model for understanding what makes successful animated content work across generations.
Over the course of the programme, participants will be guided through the process of developing a spec script for an episode of Phineas and Ferb. This script will be a valuable addition to the portfolio of anyone aspiring to work in the animation industry
