Prof. Nelson Okorie is a Professor of Media and Communication Studies at the School of Media and Communication, Pan-Atlantic University, where he also serves as the Director of both the PhD Programme and the Centre for Media and Communication Research (CMCR). With over sixteen years of teaching experience in higher education, Prof. Okorie is a distinguished academic whose work bridges scholarship, strategic communication, and industry practice.

His teaching and research span areas such as development communication, strategic planning, journalism, and media studies. Prof. Okorie is a member of several esteemed professional and academic bodies, including the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Certified Marketing Communication Institute of Nigeria (CMCIN), African Council for Communication Education (ACCE), South African Communication Association (SACOMM), International Communication Association (ICA), African Journalism Educators Network (AJEN), and the UNCTAD Virtual Institute, Switzerland.

Prof. Okorie is globally recognized for his research impact. Google Scholar ranks him among the most cited researchers in development communication, while Scopus Scival places him among the leading media and communication scholars in Nigeria. He has authored over 80 scholarly publications indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, and has secured competitive research grants from institutions in South Africa and the United States.

Beyond academia, Prof. Okorie is the Executive Director of Lily Classic Enterprises, producers of Yo Berries Yogurt, with production facilities in Ota, Ogun State and Lekki-Ibeju, Lagos State. His involvement in both scholarship and entrepreneurship reflects his commitment to applying knowledge for social and economic development.
