Afam Okonkwo

Afam Okonkwo is a full-time faculty member in the Department of Information and Media Studies (ISMS) at Pan-Atlantic University. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and an MSc in Data Science (Distinction) from Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos. He has also earned several certifications in full stack web development, machine learning, cloud computing, Agile software development, and advanced front-end technologies, including training from Stanford Online, ETH Zurich, Meta, and Oracle.
Afam brings a strong technical and collaborative mindset to his role, focusing on teamwork, quality delivery, and student satisfaction. At PAU, he serves as a member of the university’s AI Committee and is the Technical Lead for the Internet Radio Teams. He is deeply committed to mentoring students and has a long-standing passion for guiding teenagers, both within and outside the academic environment.
His teaching approach blends technical depth with hands-on relevance, ensuring students are prepared for real-world challenges in the tech space. He is also dedicated to continuous learning and service, believing in making meaningful contributions to his community.
Outside the classroom, he enjoys driving, reading novels and news, and staying on top of the latest tech trends. A fun fact he shares—he discovered his love for driving after buying his first car to work as an Uber driver.
